What type of comments have you heard about Colorism in your Latino household?

Most likely you've been told not to stay in the sun for too long or you have also noticed how much your cousins with blue eyes and blonde hair were praised.

It is no secret that Colorism is not a topic that really comes up within our Latino community and we thought having this conversation was important due to all the unrest we experienced in 2020.

This episode is a recording of our Interview with Speaker & Media Personality Brenda Smith Lezama during our AMPLIFICA series which we did to support black creators.

We discuss understanding Colorism in the Latinx Community and Brenda shares her experience as an Afro Latina living in Mexico City.

We wanted to share this interview with you all because It is extremely important we continue having these conversations it was such an eye opener for us and all of those in attendance.
